In reality, it doesn’t really matter which one you run on your computer. In the end, the only thing that matters is that you get a good computing experience, and by that I mean you accomplish what you want to do with ease and, in some instances, joy.

That’s all it matters when it comes to operating systems.

Defcon

How would you like to be a part of biggest hacker convention while enjoying the luxurious hotels and the entertainment that of Las Vegas, all at the same time?

Not being an advertiser for Defcon, but my past experience of Defcon was so much fun that I wish to come back again and again, year after year, to learn about the latest trend in technology and security, while visiting one of the most fun-filled city in America.

I highly recommend this convention.

WP-Table Reloaded

With a recent need to include a table in my post, I began my search for a somewhat elegant looking yet simple to implement spreadsheet / table for WordPress. After venturing through countless plug-ins and alternatives, I finally found WP-Table Reloaded, which is an awesome plug-in that lets you create, edit, and publish table all within WordPress.

I highly recommend it for your WordPress table needs.

Firefox – CyberSearch

Firefox extension “CyberSearch” is basically an add-on that adds search functionality to the URL bar, where you generally use to enter the address to a website.

I just got it, and found it to be AWESOME! So thought I’d share.

(Originally I thought FF3′s “awesome bar” automatically does this, but it’s not working for me, so I don’t know what’s wrong with my setup)

Photoshop Brush Creation

Just a short mention that if you are interested in creating a brush for Photoshop, remember to make it less than 2500 x 2500. That’s the new standard. Aside from that, making brush is pretty easy.

Make your brush on your canvas however you want it
Go to Edit -> Define brush Preset
Give a name, export, whatever. You are done with your single brush, or you can continue to make your brush set.

Fairly simple. And as a bonus, I realized recently that a lot of users submitted their brushes to deviantart, making it one of the best places to find Photoshop brushes.

Resident Evil 5

I want to play.

I still remember the first time I played the very first Resident Evil. That part where the player first encounters the zombie? I quit at least 3 times before I was able to get pass that part, just because it was so scary. And being a person who rarely plays scary games or see scary movies, pushing myself to finish Resident Evil games is actually quite an accomplishment.

It’s just so much fun…being scared, in a way.

But I like the new RE5. No more around the corner camera that prevents players from seeing if there are monsters within the vicinity, which is a big plus for me. And the aiming is better suited for mouse, just like FPS games. Good deal. So coming from someone whose last experience with RE series was RE3, on PC, RE5 becomes a game that not only extends the original story line, but provides a much better PC gaming experience over all (from viewing a few game-play videos).

Can’t wait.

CSS Fun

As a sequel to adding a menu to the new photo album, I realized today that the implementation doesn’t bode well with smaller screen. As in, if the whole page from left to right cannot be displayed altogether, the menu itself is essentially hidden from the user.

Not good.

So to fix the problem, I have to re-arrange and “re-style” the menu so it actually looks like a part of the design. But talking is easy, and not being a pro, arranging and playing with CSS tags takes quite some trial and error to figure out what each tag does, along with its perks and drawbacks. Just like learning any other programming language, it’ll take some practice to get used to, but having programming background, it does seem like the effort is not wasted. As a result, the menu is now drop-down style, and is accessible from every page. Even better, it looks like it’s a part of the whole site design.

I am giving myself a pat on the shoulder.
