How do you live with your dog(s)?
Do you provide them with food and shelter, and lots of love? Do you take a step further, and provide them with exercise, disciplines, rules, and boundaries?
Not being a big fan of TV shows, National Geographic Channel’s Dog Whisperer actually is worth watching, not because it is about dogs, but because what Caesar the “dog whisperer” does actually works! Owning two dogs myself, I have tried out many discipline techniques shown, and the dogs are responding pretty well, and I have to say I gained quite a bit of knowledge about dog behavior and training from that show, a very unlikely perk from today’s TV shows, if you ask me.
But of course, dog training is a long term thing, so long we have a dog or dogs. It is a never-ending task, but should be an enjoyable one. I think all dog owners should understand that all dogs, as Caesar too believes, are fine without human. We introduce them to our today’s society, and if something is wrong with them, we the human are at fault, not the dogs. Always willing to admit your mistake, and improve upon. That, is a dog owner’s responsibility of a life time. In the end, you will appreciate the effort.
