So if someone asks, this one is post-processed for enhanced effect: everything but CN herself is saturated and color filtered to make her stands out more. On top of that, some glamour glow, color adjustment, brightness & contrast, crop saturation, and some touch-up.
And there it is.

I think one of the biggest selling points for this one is her expression. Throughout the few months I have been into cosplay photography, I have increasingly discovered how subtle expression change could make a picture day and night, thanks to creelman09 for mentioning that in one of her comments.
So yes, I think facial expressions are important, and possibly more important than crazy poses. And that, is what made this picture.

Another image that I think is made more powerful by the B&W effect.
And I like the sword too.

Dim library, not flash friendly (we don’t want to disturb students!). So what do I do? High ISO, and very steady hands (not really, but PP helped sharpened the image a bit). This is one situation where a camera that can produce clean high ISO image would come in handy (think 1D, 5D series), or a lens with very wide aperture (e.g. 50mm f1.8 prime lens!).
As of the image, this is one image that a fellow photographer & friend, Cliff, suggested that I could’ve made it more symmetrical. Very true indeed! I was probably just too burnt out by all the stress from that day (recap: rain, dust in camera, high ceiling, and dim interiors. All of which I am no expert in dealing with) that I wasn’t able to focus on capturing epic images.
Oh well. I won’t fail next time!
Different photographers have different ways toward post-processing the images they took. Personally, I almost always post-process / edit the images before I publish them, but I am really curious as to what the viewers actually like, particularly, the models / cosplayers themselves.
So, what type of photograph do you like?
