Ever since I started photographing cosplayers, I have met many passionate cosplayers who are committed, motivated, and very proud of being a part of the this community, and SK is one of these passionate individuals.
After working with her on many occasions, I can tell how much she loves all aspects of cosplaying. It’s very much like photography: we love our hobbies, and what we love the most about it is how much it allows us to grow in the domain. It’s the same for cosplayers: costume research, sewing, design, and much more; that’s a lot of effort and hard work to make that gorgeous costume that you see at cosplay conventions and various photo-shoots.
SK is a great cosplayer, and knowing that as a cosplay photographer, it only makes me want to take even more epic pictures, as an appreciation of what they already do: cosplay.

Can you believe it was her first time cosplaying?
OK, maybe it’s not that easy to tell from the above picture, but it was really fun for me to work with her and her friend, T.
So while I was post processing the above image, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to achieve. But from what I have learned from idolatrystudios, I went B&W, and BOOM! We have a fantastic image. It’s especially shocking for me, because I rarely get good B&W pictures, so this unexpected result is high appreciated.

She REALLY likes UK. Not just the character, but the real UK, you know, England, great Britain…
At least that’s what I think.
Anyway, I really like working with her, because
- her outfits are always very delicate, detailed, and authentic
- she’s great at posing
- she has great ideas for shoots
- (IMO) we work very well together
- some of my greatest shots are of her, for some reason
So for the above shot, except for the wind (very cooperative, by the way), was all her idea. All I needed to do was move around and exercise my index finger. And I think it’s a wallpaper-worthy picture.

As previously mentioned, I did quite a bit of homework and changed a bit in the way I shoot for this past GK, and Nebula & K (they are good friends) just so happened to be my first pair of cosplayers to “experiment” on. I was really satisfied with how many pictures turned out, but I have to confess, with models like Nebula & K, one has to TRY really hard to get a bad picture.
I think it’ll be awesome to work with them again.
